"The Girl in the Water"
I look into the water
and see a girl
looking back at me
looking into my eyes
And as I look
at the girl in the water
I wish that
I was like her
Her life is perfect
No worries
No sorrow
Never lonely
Always happy
Always smiling
Always full of joy
I extend my arm
to touch her face
But when my hand reaches the water
with ripples, her face has been replaced
Ripples in a perfect circle
Grow more and more
And I sit up
And think some more
My life is boring
Dull and sorrow
I'm lonely and depressed
From each day to day
The water settles
And I look in
And see that girl
Smile at her friend
